Bakyna
Revision as of 22:04, 10 October 2006 by Rebollo fr (talk | contribs) (a new article, totally obscure camera)
The Bakyna (ベキナー) is a Japanese 4.5×6 strut folding camera sold by Yamashita Yūjirō Shōten in 1937. It has a bakelite body and scissor struts on each side of the front standard. There is a folding optical finder centred on the top plate and an advance knob on the top left.
The camera is offered in the Yamashita catalogue dated April 20, 1937[1], for ¥29 with a Pionar Anastigmat 50/6.3 lens and a Picco shutter giving T, B, 25, 50, 100 speeds, both made by Fuji Kōgaku. The camera itself is attributed to Fuji Kōgaku by some sources[2] (probably on the basis of the lens and shutter equipment) but no definitive evidence has been found of this.
