Argus introduced the "Argoflex Model" in 1950, but it was only offered for a few months.[1] With minor cosmetic changes (including neckstrap lugs) the same camera became the Argoflex 40, and then the Argus 40. This was an elaboration of the Argus seventy-five molded body, but adding a much better focusing f/4.5 anastigmat lens, plus shutter speeds variable from 1/25 to 1/150 and B.
