Aptina is a renowned maker of image sensors. It started in 1995 as Photobit as first maker of CMOS image sensors, and became Micron Imaging and now Aptina. At the Photokina 2010 the company announced a new 16 Megapixel image sensor in APS format, its first sensor for DSLRs.
The company is based in the Silicon Valley (San José).
