Acro Scientific Products Company was a camera maker in Chicago in about 1940.[1] The firm is one of those in the Chicago cluster of companies making near-identical, cheap bakelite cameras ('minicams'). It is suspected that some of these companies never existed as more than alternative names for marketing. However, while the simple Acro is very like the cameras made under other company names, the Model V (viewfinder) and R (rangefinder) are distinct. Though based on a similar plastic body, with a flat back, they have a much better lens and shutter unit.
