Okada
Okada was a Japanese camera maker, active from the 1930s. Its full name was Okada Kōgaku Seiki K.K. (岡田光学精機株式会社). This name was often abbreviated to Okako (岡光, Okakō).
Kokusan kamera no rekishi identifies Okada with the company Walz Camera Works that made the original Walz 3×4 camera in 1936–7. McKeown simply attributes the original Walz to Okada, calling it the Baby Walz. Advertisements for this camera (see the corresponding page) only mention Walz Works or Walz Camera Works and Nihon Shōkai as company names.
Okada made a series of 4.5×6 folders, called Semi Okako and Waltax. McKeown says that other Waltax cameras were made by Daiichi.
