Max Berek

Max Berek was a mineralogist and mathematician who worked as chief developer of Leitz's microscopes when Oskar Barnack developed the Leica. Berek became involved as the developer of the 20 earliest Leica lenses. One of his designs was the Tessar-type Leitz Elmar 50/3.5 lens.
