The Hi-Lite ECL is another variation on the interesting Cosina Hi-Lite EC, perhaps slightly restyled. The ECL shares the EC's unusual scheme for offering aperture-priority autoexposure while using plain vanilla 42mm screw lenses, with a two-step push of the shutter release. But the ECL has a battery-check light on the top deck, rather than an index mark for the meter needle in the viewfinder. A rear pocket for film box tops has replaced the previous film-type reminder ring around the rewind crank. A button alongside the lens mount seems to be an AE lock.
