Description
The Rolleicord IIc, also known as a type 3, was manufactured between February 1938 until January 1939. This is the first Rolleicord to display the camera’s name as a cast nameplate. The IIc is the first Rolleicord made by Franke and Heidecke to have a serial number, as does the first Rolleiflex which began manufacture a year before in 1937. The sole number found on earlier model Rolleicords is the serial number for the camera’s Zeiss lens. The focusing knob is marked in feet and includes a depth-of-field calculation guide. An exposure determination chart is on the camera back.
The Rolleicord type 3 is the last Rolleicord made having a red window for locating the start position on a roll of film.
