Planchon Cellulose Corporation
The Planchon Cellulose Corporation was a French manufacturer of cellulose films (and possibly also printing papers and photographic chemicals), founded by Victor Planchon, first in Boulogne and then of Lyon (France).[1] Planchon collaborated with the Lumiere brothers in fabricating the first films for the Cinematographe in Boulogne-sur-mer and later in Lyon. He eventually became director of the Lumiere factory in the Lyon suburb of Feysin where he made and distributed films with Lumiere emulsions.[2] To augment his own business of cellulose films, Planchon sold a number of cameras manufactured by OEMs such as Héard & Mallinjod under the Plavic (PLAnchon VICtor) label.
