Planchon Cellulose Corporation
The Planchon Cellulose Corporation was a French manufacturer of cellulose films (and possibly also printing papers and photographic chemicals), founded by Victor Planchon, first in Boulogne and then of Lyon (France). Planchon collaborated with the Lumiere brothers in fabricating the first films for the Cinematographe in Boulogne-sur-mer and later in Lyon. He eventually became director of the Lumiere factory in the Lyon suburb of Feysin where he made and distributed films with Lumiere emulsions. To augment his own business of cellulose films, Planchon sold a number of cameras manufactured by OEMs such as Héard & Mallinjod under the Plavic (PLAnchon VICtor) label.
