Fotokemika
The Efke factory in Samobor, Croatia is the last producer of 127 film. It is located not far from Zagreb. They make at least two 127 films; Efke R100 (a single layer black and white film) and Macocolor UCN 200, a colour negative film. Macocolor can be developed with the common C-41 process. They also produce for the 120 (medium format) and 135 (small format or normal film) spool.
The Efke R100 film has markings on the paper back for 4×4, 4×6 and 4×3cm pictures. It has a very clear film base and gives really sharp images. Efke R25 is one of the slowest emulsions available on 120 spool. Its single layer technology and fine crystals allow very detailed pictures. Processing R25 can cause a few surprises. Rinse the film before developing: a bluish layer of paint washes off. When wet, the emulsion scratches very easily. The film has the tendency to curl when drying.
