This 1980s SLR offered by Vivitar is once again a model manufactured under contract by Cosina. This camera is primarily designed for electronically-timed autoexposure, although manual shutter speeds can be selected using the rocker switch centered within the shutter-control dial. Some examples of this camera may be seen badged "AF" in red, just below the rewind crank. This refers to a bundle offered with Vivitar's 28-70mm lens which includes a bulky self-contained autofocus system—a transitional development that was quickly superseded. Fortunately the body can accept all types of K mount lenses from various brands.

The features of the V635 seem most closely related to Cosina's CT9, with slightly updated styling.
