The Vivitar 35-105mm f/3.5 Close Range Zoom was built by Tokina and marketed by Vivitar. Pushing the zoom ring forward would enter a "Close Range" focusing mode where the zoom ring functioned to control a helical focusing unit that would disengage when the zoom ring was moved back to the "zoom" setting.
