The Vivitar 200mm f/3.5 Auto Telephoto was a fixed mount lens distributed by Vivitar in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This lens is believed to have been manufactured by Komine. It is a member of the Vivitar lens family known as the Komine diamond rubber ring family. This family is extensively documented in the book, The Vivitar Guide, by John C. Wolf.[1] The Wolf guide has this to say about the 200mm lens:
A lightweight longer telephoto, the 200mm is a prime sports or nature lens. It is also suited to dramatic portraits, since it can cover a person's face from about 10 feet away.
The lens was sold as early as April, 1976 and was still in production when the Wolf book was published in 1980.[2]
