I am creating this reference to try to resolve confusion about they types of lenses on folders and TLRs. I put an SLR section, but I am wondering if it is appropriate because medium format SLR lenses are so different than folder or TLR lenses. Folder and TLR lenses seem very compact by comparison, and have construction criteria that is also different than SLR construction. Having mentioned this I am wondering if folder and TLR lenses really belong in a group with larger format lenses, and SLR lenses belong in their own category, or with 35mm SLR lenses.

I have not alphabetized the names because I am still thinking about how to organize them. The article may be difficult to design; for instance, Tessar (or tessar) is both a brand and a design type.

I would very much like to include, or point to, actual photographic examples showing how the lenses behave under differing conditions--Flickr will be invaluable for this.--John Bessa 22:30, 12 March 2009 (EDT)

But of now the list has no confusion-resolving value, and indeed doesn't even say anything. Instead, it seems to be a kind of a scratchpad for your thinking as it emerges. Nothing wrong with having a scratchpad, but the place for it is here. -- Hoary 01:35, 16 March 2009 (EDT)
