Description

Unomat Mini Top is a tiny electronic flash made by the West German company Unomat GmbH & Co. KG in the early 2000s. [1]

The Mini Top is a very compact unit powered by just one AAA (R3) size cell, with guide number of 14 m for 100 ISO speed. The flash can be synchronised with a hot shoe only.
Mini Top strangely does not have a separate test button for triggering flashes manually, but a flash is discharged every time the power switch is shifted to "off" - there's no way to turn the unit off without flashing!

Specifications:

  • Guide number: 14 m
  • Angle of illumination: 60x45 deg.
  • Power source: 1x AAA
  • Charging time: 8 s
  • Dimensions: 55x60 (65?) x25 mm
  • Weight: 80 g / 150 g (without battery / with battery)

Notes

  1. The Mini Top seems to be (at least externally) identical to the Chinese Falcon Eyes FE-12M flash, so it may non be an original German construction.
