Umemoto Seisakusho (梅本製作所, i.e. Umemoto Works) is a Japanese company, founded in 1935 by Umemoto Kinzaburō (梅本金三郎), after the retailer Kikō-Dō (暿光堂) asked him to set up a camera plant.[1]
It first made folding cameras, among them the Makinet 6 (マキネット6) in 1936. Then it made the Super Flex Baby 4×4 SLR from 1938. All these cameras were distributed by Kikō-Dō. It is not known if the company produced more cameras after the war.
The company still exists. Today it makes photography-related parts, like tripod heads for Kenko.
