The Triplex 2-leaf shutter was patented in 1886. It was made by Prosch in New York. It had a facility to adjust spring tension to achieve 3 different shutter speeds for its instant mode. It had a dial to set the aperture with 4 aperture holes in different sizes. It had a piston to attach a flexible tube for remote operation with rubber bulb.
