A company called Tanaka (田中) was mentioned in the April 1943 government inquiry on Japanese cameras as the maker of the Mulix 6×6 folder and its Mulixar 75/4.5 and 75/3.5 four-element lenses.[1] It is not known if it was related with the postwar maker of the Tanack cameras.
Tanaka Kōgaku (田中光学) made Leica copies called Tanack and lenses called Tanar from about 1953 to about 1960.[2]
