There seems to be no agreement as to when the IC-1 was introduced. We know the IC-1 replaced the Unirex, but according to rumour, Seikosha stopped making the leaf shutter used in the Unirex, resulting in that camera being modified to accommodate a focal-plane shutter, and leading to the IC-1. It seems to be agreed that the Unirex was produced until 1973, so the IC-1 may have followed that year, but I get the feeling Topcon may have been caught-out by the shutter change, making 1974 seem more feasible. Here in the UK, an advertisement in the October 1974 edition of Amateur Photographer lists the IC-1 model as NEW, suggesting that the camera was not available in 1973? It would be good to find some evidence to support either date - 1973 or 1974.
