Suter

E. Suter was a camera maker based in Basel/Switzerland. Their Reisekameras have a very close resemblance to those made in the Dresden region, Germany, indicating a possible connection, or even that the wooden camera bodies may have been supplied from there, for Suter to supply the lenses of their own make. Some cameras have actually a small badge with Emil Suter's name and origin inscribed, eg. E. Suter, Basel(German) or Bale(French). However, putting badges on, was the normal pracise for several suppliers or wholesale companies, it constitues no proof of origin of the original equipment manufacturer.
