The Stylex Folding Camera is a simple camera for 620 film from the Herbert George company of Chicago, Illinois (later best known for the brand Imperial). It is a bit atypical among Imperial's 620 models in exposing rectangular 2¼×3¼" images rather than square ones. "Folding" is not quite an accurate name, as the lensboard is simply pulled straight forward before the camera can be used. This design (and the shape of the viewfinder housing) strongly resemble the Ansco Clipper.
The lens is fixed focus and there are no exposure adjustments; but sockets on the top of the camera permit attachment of a large flashbulb holder. As with many cameras with simple, low-quality lenses, the film gate of the Stylex is slightly curved, to reduce the impact of field curvature and pincushion distortion.
