Shimura (志村) is a Japanese company, which made the Mascot subminiature camera around 1950. The full name is unclear: the most reliable source says Shimura Kōgaku (志村光学) but others give "Shimura Koki" or "Shimura Seiki Co." instead.[1] It is said that the Mascot was developed on behalf of Tōkyō Kōgaku, of which Shimura was perhaps an offshoot or a subcontractor.[2]
