The Selcaflex is a Japanese 6×6 TLR camera. It was perhaps made by a company called Kyōwa, as the markings on the camera seem to indicate.[1] The company logo is not the same as that used by Kyōwa Kōki (maker of the Flora Six and Kyowa Six); this perhaps indicates that the Selcaflex was made by a different Kyōwa company.

Description
The Selcaflex has externally geared lenses, with a focusing tab on the taking lens. There is a metal casing surrounding the two lenses, and the shutter release protrudes from this casing on the photographer's right.
The film advance is by a knob on the photographer's right and is controlled by a red window at the bottom of the back, protected by a vertically sliding cover. There is a depth-of-field table on the back, above the red window.
The viewing hood has a KSK logo on the front, and a loupe is hinged to its rear part. The name Selca flex is inscribed on a nameplate with a stepped border.
The lenses are Kyowa Seltar 7.5cm f/3.5. The bezels are engraved SELTAR F:3.5 f=7.5cm Kyowa Co. No.xxxx. The aperture scale is screwed to the front casing, under the taking lens, and has a KYOWA CAMERA WORKS marking.
The shutter is a Selca, gives B, 1–200 speeds, has a self-timer and a PC synch post.[2]
The only surviving example observed so far is pictured here and here at Japan Family Camera, it is probably the same which is pictured here at Asacame.
Notes
- ↑ In this page and this page at Japan Family Camera, the Selcaflex is attributed to "Kyōwa Kōgaku" (協和光学), but this is a mere guess. In one of the two pages, this hypothetical "Kyōwa Kōgaku" is confused with Kyōwa Kōki (協和光機), maker of the Flora Six and Kyowa Six.
- ↑ Selca name: this page at Japan Family Camera.
Bibliography
The Selcaflex is not listed in Sugiyama or in Kokusan kamera no rekishi.
