San Giorgio was a camera-maker in Genoa for a few years after the Second World War.[1] The company was founded in 1905, to make vehicles, but soon (presumably because of the First World War) turned to making optical products including gunsights.[2] After the Second World War, the company designed some cameras in an effort to develop civilian business. Only the Janua Leica-copy was made in significant numbers (a few thousand, though the late Janua S has serial number 451,xxx).[2]
