The Rosen Hand or Rosen Hand Camera is a Japanese 6.5×9cm folding plate camera, attributed to the company Proud[1]. It has a brilliant finder and a folding frame finder, and is known with a Corygon f:4.5 lens and a Vario shutter giving T, B, 25–100 speeds[2]. It was advertised at least in 1935.[3]
A 6.5×9 plate folder has been sold in a Yahoo Japan auction, said to be a Rosen and equipped with a Corygon 10.5cm f:4.5 lens by Friedrich and a Compur shutter giving T, B, 1–250 speeds. It has some similarity with the Rosen illustrated in Kokusan kamera no rekishi, but differences are visible, notably in the U-shaped part supporting the lens. The metal body also shows some similarity to the Proud plate folder, to which it is perhaps related.
