In 2007 the Rolleiflex 4,0 FT was released as a modern re-design of the tele twin-lens reflex camera, the Tele Rolleiflex from 1959.
It features a newly designed Tele Xenar 135mm f/4 HFT lens by Schneider Kreuznach with a size IV filter bayonet. The new lens has a reduced minimum focusing distance, from the 2.5 meters of the old Tele Rolleiflex to just 1.5 meters. This was achieved by a complete re-design of the focusing mechanism.
The qualities of this lens together with the shorter focusing distance makes this suitable for portraiture.
