The Rolleicord IIe is a model in a long line of Rolleicords which started in 1933 and ended in 1977 and were produced by Franke & Heidecke and later on by Rollei-Werke in Braunschweig, Germany.

It is a medium format TLR camera that uses 120 type Rollfilm. 12 6x6cm square images can be captured for each roll of 120 film.
There is also a Plate adapter available which gives one 6x6 image on a 6.5x9cm size glassplate.
By using an optional Rolleikin 1 adapter 35mm film cartridges can be used.

The Rolleicord II series was produced in 6 different models from 1936 till 1950.

This model, the Rolleicord IIe ,also refered to as Rolleicord II model or type 6, was produced from 1949 till 1950 (about 13.900 units) by Franke & Heidecke and was the last model in the II series.
Main differences with the Rolleicord IId (model 5) is that the both lenses now are coated and the Compur-Rapid shutter now has X flash synchronisation. The flash synchronisation socket now resides on the other (right) side of the front panel.
