The AF-100 is an autofocus point-and-shoot camera for 35mm film, introduced by Japanese manufacturer Ricoh in 1987. It was also sold by the name of AF-500 in some markets. A version with a databack was also available and it was sold as the AF-100D or the AF-500D.
This camera is an updated model of the AF-50 which was introduced 2 years earlier in 1985. The AF-100 shares almost the same features with its preceding AF-50 except that the AF-100 takes Lithium-type battery rater than the AA-type, and it does not incorporate a manual film speed selector facility. The external body design has also been revised, and the typical 80's edged appearance given to the AF-50 was replaced with a more rounded 90's-ish one.
