The Polaroid 690 (or SLR 690) was the final Polaroid model with SLR viewing derived from the original Polaroid SX-70.

Like the Polaroid SLR 680, the 690 has a large sonar-focusing unit above the lens, and was designed to use Polaroid's 600 (and 779) integral film packs, rather than the earlier (and slower) SX-70/Time-Zero film. In addition to small cosmetic differences, the 690 replaced the analog autoexposure circuitry of the 680 with a digital microcontroller[1].
