The Pentax efina is a Japanese compact APS zoom camera assembled in the Philippines. The feature that distinguishes it from other APS cameras is its mode selection wheel on top of the camera body, a feature we know from modern digicams or SLRs. All flash modes and a night portrait mode can be chosen directly with this wheel.
The camera has to be switched on by shifting aside the upper part of the lens cover. The two parts of the lens cover will open like a modern lift's sliding door. Then its zoom lens control lever lets the user switch the lens's focal length from wide angle to normal in 10 steps, and backwards in 20 steps. That's because the zoom lens movement out of the camera is faster than vice versa.
