The latest in the series and replacement for the [[Panasonic DMC-FZ30|FZ30]], though the differences between the two are relatively minor compared to past changes in the product line. The FZ50 has been up to 10.1 megapixels, can shoot at higher ISO speeds (up to 1600, or 3200 in certain modes), features the Venus III processing engine (versus the Venus II in the FZ30), and a number of other minor changes.
