The Orwolette is a copy of the 1956 model of the Pouva Start (with an optical viewfinder), by the Brazilian company Indústria Brasileira Fotográfica. It makes pictures 2¼ inches square on 120 film. Novacon states that the camera was made from 1964, and that IBF bought moulds from Pouva.[1]

The name of the camera is printed in white on the lens surround, as is the ORWO logo, suggesting that there must have been some connection between IBF and Orwo.

Notes

  1. Influências no estrangeiro ('Foreign Influence') (2) Alemanha (Germany), part 6 (of 6), at Novacon (text in Portuguese).
