The Kosmos Optikus was an experimental kit made by the publisher of the German Kosmos nature magazine. It served young people to learn about optics through practical experiments. The experiments included the construction a telescope (enlargement 15×), a microscope (enlargement 35×), a single lens reflex camera, a tele lens, and the adaption of the camera to the telescope or to the microscope of the kit Mikromann.

The Optikus SLR used Agfa's Rapid film. It had a 1:5,6 71,4mm two elements lens (probably achromatic lens). It had a waist level reflex finder, usable with the accessory viewfinder loupe from the kit.
