The Nikon Nuvis S had a unique design. It was an APS compact zoom camera. Only the little flashlight window was not hidden in the camera housing when it was switched off. It had to be switched on by pulling the camera body out of its steel housing in which it was mounted. It was not the lightest compact APS camera, but may have been the most robust one of those which could be carried in one's pocket without a further case around it.

  • Autofocus: passive wide field autofocus
  • Viewfinder: focus-dependent, with diopter-correction -1,5 - +1,5
  • Shutter speed: 2 sec - 1/400 sec, controlled electronically
  • Films: APS films of 50 ASA upto 1600 ASA film speed
  • Dimensions: 95 x 65 x 32 mm
  • Weight: 250 g with battery and film
