The Nikon D90 was announced in August 2008, and is the consumer/amateur DSLR replacing the Nikon D80.

Main new characteristics are:

  • a new 12 MP sensor coming from the D300
  • better ISO performance
  • a video mode (720p HD)
  • high res screen
  • life view mode
  • 11 points AF similar to the previous generation, 3D mode added
