The body has a very solid feel, with a metal frame; there are doors at the end for the memory card, and underneath for the battery. The door for the battery compartment has a very flimsy catch, and many of these have been observed with the catch broken and the door flapping open. (The example in the rear view shows this!)
- Lens: 3x Zoom-Nikkor ED 7.8-23.4mm (38-114mm lens in 35mm format) + 4x digital zoom
- Autofocus: 5 automatic AF modes, + manual area select AF & face priority AF
- Display: 2.0-inch amorphous silicon TFT LCD monitor
- 11 languages
- Sensor: 1/1.8-inch CCD
- Power: EN-EL5 Li-Ion battery - or disposable CP1 lithium.
