In 1946 the Japanese company Orion Seiki was founded by Mr. Akira Ogihara. It produced the Orion Six 6×6 folder at some time in the 1950s. In 1956 it introduced the first Japanese 35mm SLR camera body with pentaprism. The company name became Miranda Camera K.K. (ミランダカメラ㈱) at some time, and the company kept ahead for some years in the development of such SLRs.
