The last of Minolta's pro camera's it is a successor to both the 9xi and the new maxxum 7. As with the maxxum 9xi the 9 was a rugged camera with legends of it being used to drive nails. Rubberized controls and weatherproof controls made this camera ready to take in anything in its path. Later version included the ultra rare maxxum 9ti an all titanium body that is reputed to put the famed Nikon F5 to shame. Its controls followed the maxxum 600si and also the 7.
