Mars

Mars Shashin Kōgyō-sha (マース写真工業社) was a Japanese company based in Tokyo, Ebara in 1943.[1] It was listed in the "Kokusan shashinki no genjōchōsa" ("Inquiry into Japanese cameras") as the maker of the Patent Mars shutter (T, B, 1–250) mounted on the Semi Mulber, Semi Zeitax, Semi Miss and Starflex. It certainly made the Lex shutter (T, B, 5–200) observed on an example of the Weha Six and marked Mars Tokyo at the top of the shutter plate.[2] This is perhaps the same shutter which was also offered on the Roavic.[3] It was perhaps also related to the Baby Balnet camera.[4]
