Leica IIf (Black dial variant, 1951) w/Summitar 50mm f/2 image by Süleyman Demir (Image rights) |
The Leica IIf has the same camera body as the Leica IIIf but without the slow shutter speeds. It replaced the Leica IIc in 1951. There is a patch on the body where the slow speed selector knob would be positioned and the accessory shoe has only two screws. As with the IIIf there are two variations - the Black Dial, made from 1951 to 1952 and the Red Dial, made from 1952 to 1956.[1] The Red Dial IIf from 1954 has a top shutter speed of 1/1000th.
Serial number range: BD 451,001 - 574,400. RD 574,401 - 822,000.
