Kyokutō Kōki Seisakusho (極東光機製作所) was a Japanese company that made the Semi-Tex 4.5×6 folder in 1937–8.
An advertisement for the Semi-Tex[1] shows a logo with the name Kyokko Mfg. Co., possibly an abbreviation of the company's name (thus written 極光). It also shows the trademark "Simpu", that is found on the lens of the Semi-Tex and has also been observed on the lens of a Pilot Ref.
This page of the AJCC website attributes the Semi-Tex to a company called Kyokkō Shōkai, written 旭光商会 with different characters. Perhaps this is a mistake (as the 1940 date given in the same page), or this indicates that Kyokutō Kōki and Kyokkō were different companies.
The Vester-Lette 4.5×6 folder is also attributed to Kyokutō Kōki Seisakusho by some sources,[2] but many hints relate this camera to Ginrei Kōki.
