Kodak Retina Ia

The Retina Ia was a folding camera for 35mm film made by the German Kodak AG. It was introduced in 1951 as new version of the Retina I. Its new feature was the rapid winding lever. The cameras of the Retina I series had an optical direct-vision viewfinder showing more than the actual image. A brilliant frame with parallax marks inside the finder outlined the image area. Another feature of these cameras were the cross-coupled shutter speed and aperture selectors. In coupled mode a faster speed did open lens aperture. The Retina Ia was the intermediate model before the redesigned model Ib was released in 1954.
