This article is a stub. You can help Camera-wiki.org by expanding it.

Johann Schwarzbauer was an Austrian camera manufacturer from Vienna about which little is known.

The only observed camera type produced c.1954[1] is the 35mm format Arex.

The Arex was designed to be an affordable low-entry camera. For its concept an Austrian Patent was obtained [2].
It has an unusual frame format of 24x28mm giving almost square images.
The frame counter only goes till number 19. This would indicate that only 12 frame (24x36) 35mm film can be used.
There is no winding spool so an uptake cassette is necessary.
