Joe Mihalyi was born in Hungary. He worked at Kodak USA just before World War II, and designed the Ektra, Medalist, Super Six 20 and Bantam Special, working closely on the latter three with famed industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague. A legend exists, based on the design of the Ektra, that he was left-handed and designed the Ektra with left-handed people in mind, but this legend is apparently contradicted here.
