The name Jeicy Camera Works is found on the top cover of the Jeicy, a Japanese Leica copy made in the 1950s, of which a single example has surfaced. The camera was probably assembled by a small workshop, of which nothing is known.

The name "Jeicy Camera Works" does not sound like that of an actual Japanese company, but rather like the dummy names used in advertising material before World War II, and on some occasions in the late 1940s or 1950s (see Camera Works). In the particular case of the Jeicy, the manufacturer was perhaps a single craftsman, who decided to engrave the phrase "Jeicy Camera Works" instead of his own name.
