The camera shown in the picture is described by A. D. Abring as 9x12cm plate camera with "Periscop Rapid Aplanat" lens, made by Hermann Bardorf in Berlin in 1901. It is a folding bed camera with a unique brass shutter. Hermann Bardorf owned a drugstore in Berlin-Moabit. He became known as industry photographer who also taught photography. It is not known wether he made that camera or if he just sold it.
