The Gossen Variosix F2 is a hand held light meter with electronic display & controls. An enhancement of the Variosix F, the F2 also provides flash measurement.

Measuring

Primarily intended for incident light measurement, it is also possible to remove the translucent incident measurement dome allowing reflected light measurement.

The meter has two main operating modes allowing either shutter speed or aperture to be varied when recomputing exposure settings. A short press of the "M" button displays a single reading, holding down "M" and moving the meter will display high / low contrast for the measured regions. When measuring flash the F2 displays contrast between flash and ambient light.

For measuring flash the F2 can either be left in place ready to measure the next flash output, or the flash can be triggered using a built in flash cable socket.
