The Fujica Compact S has a coupled parallax rangefinder. A Fujinon 38mm f/2.5 lens is mounted.

The camera has an auto exposure mode, but it can also be used in aperture priority mode. Shutterspeeds range from 1/30 sec. to 1/250 sec. On the back of the camera is a lever for the ISO settings, this only has 5 choices, with a maximum of 200 iso. Inside the viewfinder is a needle exposure meter, coupled to a selenium cell, so it does not need any batteries. The needle indicates shutter or aperture setting.

Selftimer mechanism is located around the rewind lever, it's a knob which you can turn to activate the timer, and the switch on the back sets it of.

Frame counter is located at the bottom of the camera.
