The Hi-Lite 205 is one of a large number of SLR models for 35mm film from Cosina accepting 42mm screw lenses. Stop down exposure metering is activated with a switch on the side of
While similar to the preceding Hi-Lite DLR, this model gains a hot shoe, but loses the film-reminder ring around the rewind crank. Compared to its sibling the Hi-Lite 202, it adds a battery-check button and a locking collar around the shutter release.
By this point in Cosina's history it is likely that more units of the Hi-Lite 205 were sold rebadged under other brands than as Cosina models. This appears to be the model sold as the Vivitar 250/SL by Ponder & Best.
